We're based in Flintshire and work across North Wales, Cheshire and the Wirral, including Mold, Holywell, Denbigh, St Asaph, Wrexham and Chester. If you're not sure whether we cover your area, give us a call on 07842 492371 and we'll let you know.
What are your opening hours?
We're open 7 days a week: 8am to 8pm Monday to Saturday and 8am to 6pm on Sunday. You can call, WhatsApp or email, or use the quote form on the website and we'll come back to you.
Who will carry out the work?
Prometheon Electrical Solutions is run by Nathan Creevy, and Nathan oversees every job. On some jobs, such as rewires, he works alongside trusted electricians he knows well, but you'll always deal with Nathan directly.
How do your quotes work?
Quotes are free and based on the information we have at the time. They're valid for 30 days, and if anything extra is needed once work starts we'll explain it and agree it with you before going ahead.
When do I pay?
Payment is due when the work is complete unless we've agreed something different in writing. If a deposit or staged payment is needed, for example for a larger lighting scheme, it will be clearly shown on your quotation.
Do I get certification for the work?
Yes. Electrical work is tested on completion and you receive the appropriate certification for the work we've carried out. Our workmanship guarantee is set out on your quotation or invoice, and manufacturer warranties apply separately to the products we fit.
Are you insured?
Yes. Prometheon Electrical Solutions holds £1 million public liability insurance, so you can have peace of mind while we work in your home or business.
What is bespoke lighting?
Bespoke lighting is designed and installed specifically for your space, whether you're looking to highlight architectural features, create a relaxing atmosphere or add a modern finishing touch.
What types of mood lighting can you install?
We can install LED strips, concealed lighting, under-cabinet lighting, plinth lighting, shelf lighting, feature lighting, wall lighting and other custom LED solutions, as well as garden and outdoor lighting.
Can I control the lighting from my phone?
Yes. Many smart lighting systems can be controlled through a smartphone app, with some also offering voice control. We'll recommend a system that suits how you use the space.
How much does bespoke lighting cost?
Our bespoke lighting is competitively priced. The cost depends on the size of the space and the fittings you choose, so send us a few photos and we'll give you a clear price.
Do you do garden and outdoor lighting?
Yes. We install garden uplighting, outdoor kitchen and entertaining-area lighting, and exterior lights for the front of the house, all using fittings rated for outdoor use.
How long does it take to install?
A normal home charger install takes around half a day. We'll plan the cable route with you beforehand so there are no surprises on the day.
How quickly can you fit my charger?
We aim to fit your charger within a week of your enquiry.
Can you install a charger if I have solar panels?
Yes. Some EV chargers can work alongside solar PV systems and can be configured to make use of surplus solar generation, so more of your charging comes from your own panels.
Do I need a new fuse board?
Not necessarily. If your existing board isn't suitable, we can fit a dedicated EV consumer unit to supply the charger instead of replacing the whole board.
How much does a home EV charger cost?
Our home EV chargers are supplied and fitted at a competitive price. The final price depends on the charger you choose and the cable run from your board to where the charger goes.
Why would I need to upgrade my fuse board?
Older fuse boards may not provide the same level of protection as modern consumer units. An upgrade can improve the safety and protection of your electrical installation.
How do I know if my fuse board needs replacing?
Signs can include an older-style fuse board, lack of RCD protection, damage, overheating, nuisance tripping or additional electrical work requiring improved protection. We can inspect the existing installation and advise you.
How much does a fuse board upgrade cost?
Most fuse board upgrades are priced between £750 and £1,100. We'll confirm exactly what's included before any work starts.
Will my power be off all day?
The power has to be off while the new board is connected, but we plan the work to keep that time as short as possible and let you know in advance roughly how long it will be.
Will I get a certificate?
Yes. Every circuit is tested once the new board is in, and you receive the certification for the work. If testing finds problems elsewhere in the installation, we'll explain them and talk you through the options.
What is an EICR?
An Electrical Installation Condition Report is an inspection and test of the fixed wiring in a property. It checks the condition of circuits, protective devices and earthing, and records anything that needs attention.
Do you do commercial and industrial EICRs?
Yes. We carry out EICRs for domestic, landlord, commercial and industrial properties across Flintshire, North Wales, Cheshire and the Wirral.
What happens if my EICR finds problems?
Any defects are recorded with their classification codes so you know what is urgent and what is recommended. We'll explain the findings in plain English and give you a price for any remedial work.
How much does an EICR cost?
The price depends on the size of the property and the number of circuits, so we quote each EICR individually. Get in touch with a few details about the property for a free quote.
How long does an EICR take?
It depends on the size of the installation. We'll give you an idea of timings when we quote and keep disruption to a minimum on the day.
Do you take on small jobs?
Yes. Extra sockets, outdoor sockets, outside lights, downlights and other small jobs are all welcome, and they get the same care as bigger installs.
Can you add an outdoor socket?
Yes. We fit weatherproof outdoor sockets for gardens, patios, garages and outbuildings, with the right protection for outdoor use.
Can you swap my old lights for LED downlights?
Yes. We can replace old fittings with LED downlights and other modern fittings, and advise on the right number and position for the room.
How much will a small job cost?
We give you a clear price up front so you know where you stand before we start. A photo of what you need helps us quote quickly.
Do you do rewires?
Yes. We take on kitchen and room rewires as well as small jobs. Get in touch and we'll arrange a look at the property and give you a price.
